Some people call it "network marketing," others refer to this as "multi-level marketing," and others simply say "MLM."
In past years, network marketing was associated with get-rich-quick schemes, chain letters and pyramid scams. And if you operated "your own business," it merely meant you had somehow failed at your "regular job."
A pyramid program is patently illegal, since a pyramid pays people mostly to find other people to join. However, most network marketing companies reward people for making product sales, which is legal, of course.
Even today, some people turn to self-employment in desperation while still searching for a dream full time employment opportunity (a "good job," as they say).
We believe that in today's economy "good job" is an oxymoron, like "military intelligence" or "postal service."
In early 2008, jobs are being eliminated at record levels. In February of 2008, some 63,000 jobs were eliminated, the highest monthly number of American job eliminations in the last five years. We believe that this will get worse in months to come.
All too many employers play pernicious games with their employees, offer no benefits, and simply use them temporarily.

How is it possible to become rich as a self-employed person? 
During the 1980's, something unusual happened inside the American business world. With the advent of the personal home computer, the innovation of 800 numbers, direct mailings and the onslaught of the immense Internet possibilities, network marketing grew explosively.
Companies even encouraged their employees to work from home, (telecommuting) yet still be "on the job." As more and more people found the joy of not commuting to work, and the fact they really COULD make money from home, many corporate cubicle dwellers left to start up their own businesses.
Working out of the home as an "entrepreneur" became a respected resourceful way of making money, and business magazines no longer treated this scornfully. The tide turned and the "Age of Entrepreneurship" was birthed!
When the Internet emerged in the '90's, Network companies eagerly snatched their opportunity to mass market to the whole world. Network marketing now had become serious, lucrative business.
In Richard Poe's book "Wave 4 Network Marketing in the 21st Century," he relates the findings of "The Wall Street Journal" in June 1995 reporting an increase of 34% between 1990 and 1994 of the total number of network marketers.
Because of the Internet ability to reach foreign countries, many network marketing companies feverishly courted China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
By the middle of the decade, the network marketing sector had outpaced all the rest of the US economy put together. Poe again revealed that in 1995 publicly traded network marketing stocks outperformed the S&P 500 as well as the Dow by 80%.
By 1999, the Direct Selling Association in Washington, D.C. estimated that network marketers within the United States had grown to about 8 million people and were selling around $20 billion in annual sales. It also estimated that worldwide annual sales were about $80 billion. Care to guess what it might be NOW?
The Internet is most successful as a selling place. For example, 150,000 people earn their incomes by marketing products on eBay. Annual sales on eBay are $20 billion. Being that large, some observers view eBay as "an economy," just as if it were a country. If it were, only 70 nations in the world have larger economies than "the eBay Economy."
The Internet is not only great for selling products, as eBay shows, but it's a wonderful place for the network marketing professional to attract and train people, as well as selling products.
So what IS network marketing? It is a system for selling products through independent distributors who can attract other Business Partners and can earn commissions from the sales of their team, as well as their own. It is that simple.
So you can build a very wide and deep money-making organization that can multiply into the hundreds or thousands of people. One person can only sell so much in one day, but if he/she had a helpful team, he/she could make so much more money in any given length of time.
This arrangement gives residual income and staggering potential for growth! Take for instance, the idea of doubling one penny each day for one month. At the end of the thirty-first day, the penny would have grown to over $21 million!
That is the thrust of multi-level marketing. And that's why network marketing produces more new millionaries each year than any other kind of business. Could you be the next one?
Now suppose you sponsor (register) five people in one month and those five people register five people during the second month. Suppose that procedure continued for six months in a row. You would have 19,530 Business Partners in your organization.
NOW suppose each person in your organization bought $100 worth of products each month. IF you drew a 10% commission from each sale, your total monthly commissions, in your sixth month, would be $195,300.
That's only a hypothetical example, not a guarantee, claim or prediction for you. But it gives you something to think about--you can increase your cash flow and no boss is going to limit you to a 2.0% annual "merit" raise.
Of course, this is an idealized illustration, but do you see the unlimited potential in residual income in multilevel marketing? Mind-boggling!
